Peeking into the Future: Freelancing

With the constant decline of the day jobs, we are heading into a future where a majority of the professionals in almost all the industries work as freelancers. There would be a tremendous rise in the number of employers in form of entrepreneurs, and small companies.

In the freelance community, skills are rewarded. A college education will lose its status. People will start giving more emphasis on acquiring the skills which will be the most valuable to the industry than going through a college course which is completely outdated and is offering courses which are no longer relevant to the industry.

Companies will be saving a fortune, as they will no longer have to provide big offices, fixed salaries, raises, bonuses, insurance, etc. to their employees. They would get their work done for the most competitive rates in the marked through freelancers.

With this evolved system in place, as the market would keep getting more competitive the stress levels would be on the rise. People would tend to work more hours a week and spend less time on other activities in their life. We would be living in a more materialistic world.

Overall it would be more stressful but this system will definitely payoff: providing a stronger market, better living conditions, better employment opportunities for all.
